Heir's property refers to land that is passed down through generations without a will or formal estate planning, leading to multiple owners (heirs) with unclear or unmarketable title. This unresolved legal issue can cause problems after a natural disaster as federal aid requires clear title on property before that aid is authorized. Southeast Louisiana Legal Services administered a program funded through FHL Bank Dallas that addressed this issue. We produced this video to tell the story.
